Mel Tucker Big Ten Coach of the Year Candidate- after a rocky 2-5 season in his first year in East Lansing Tucker has led the Spartans to a 3-0 start for the first time since 2015 coming off an impressive 21 point win at 24th ranked Miami
Biggest Disappointments of 2021-
Indiana- QB Michael Penix Jr. has been inconsistent in his first three starts throwing 6 interceptions leaving questions about whether he is fully recovered from his surgically repaired right knee
Ball State- coming off a 7-1 season and a MAC Championship the Cardinals had much of the roster back but have limped to a 1-2 start with Senior QB Drew Plitt getting benched in the 2nd half of an ugly loss at Wyoming
Utah- Baylor transfer QB Charlie Brewer was supposed to come in and make the Utes a Pac 12 South contender but that hasn’t materialized to this point, Brewer was benched in the second half after a dreadful performance against San Diego State as the team fell to 1-2 on the year

Matt Corral Ole Miss- the Rebel’s QB threw for 335 yards and chalked up 7 total touchdowns against Tulane
Holton Ahlers East Carolina went 30-47 with 368 yards passing and 2 touchdowns rallying the Pirates from 10 down on the road at Marshall
Treyson Potts Minnesota- rushed for 121 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 30-0 win at Colorado filling in for injured star RB Mohamed Ibrahim
