3 NFL Week 4 Takeaways

1. Defense Returns to Buffalo- not surprisingly after slumping in 2020 the Bills defense has returned to form under HC and former defensive coordinator Sean McDermott, the unit ranks 1st in points allowed after falling to 14th last season, it also sits atop the NFL in takeaways per game at 2.8, linebacker Matt Milano who missed much of last year with injuries has 6 tackles for loss in four games and defensive tackle Star Lotulelei who opted out of 2020 has a recorded a sack in each of the past two games, a Week 5 matchup against Mahomes and the Chiefs will be the toughest test to date

2. Week 1 Aberration- it's clear the Saints 38-3 obliteration of Aaron Rodgers and the Packers in Week 1 was a fluke, the team suffered a disheartening 27-21 OT loss at home against the winless Giants blowing an 11 point 4th quarter lead and falling to 2-2 on the year, Alvin Kamara is still Alvin Kamara but the defense which was among the league’s best in 2020 has struggled to get pressure on quarterbacks and gave up over 400 yards passing in the loss to the Giants, this looks like an 8-8 team

3. Top Performers-

QB Daniel Jones New York- Jones threw for 402 yards and 2 touchdowns in an OT win at New Orleans bringing the Giants back from 11 down in the fourth quarter

WR Tyreek Hill Kansas City- Hill had 11 receptions for 186 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 42-30 win at Philadelphia

RB Ezekiel Elliott Dallas- rushed for 143 yards with a touchdown in a 36-28 win over the Panthers who had only given up 135 yards rushing the first 3 games combined
