3 Takeaways from Week Zero

1. Adrian Martinez doesn't have "IT"- with his team playing a nationally televised game in an abbreviated Week Zero slate Martinez has a chance in a winnable game to show the country Nebraska football was ready to re-join college football's elite programs, He completed on 50% of his 32 passes and much of his yards come with a game already decided, Martinez will have his moments but lacks the intangibles to take the Cornhuskers to the next level

2. UCLA Pac 12 South Contender- it was only 1 game against Hawaii but UCLA turned in a solid performance, the defense held a very capable offense to 26 yards rushing and under 250 yards passing, however QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson only completed 10-20 passes and wasn't really tested, the Bruins were a team I was buying to start the year but it is still too early to know if they are a legit contender for the division crown

3. Randy Edsall's days are numbered- with the success Edsall has his first go around at Uconn and having a full season off in 2020 to develop the program the Huskies were a team I thought would show great improvement from 2019, instead they went out and laid an egg at Fresno State, the defense under third year coordinator Lou Spanos was embarrassed and the offense looked pathetic, if it doesn't turn around quickly Edsall likely won't survive the entire

season
